Hot off the press: the First World Cancer Report by WHO
Kudos to WHO for bringing unparalleled insights and analytics in this topic which is often described as under-prioritised.
The First World Report on Cancer is published this day by WHO to encourage decision makers committed to:
Setting priorities, investing wisely and providing care for all
The report owes a lot to Dr Melanie Bertram, Decide Technical Lead and Health Economist, as well as Dr Andre Ilbawi, Editor of the report and Technical Officer for NCDs both at WHO, but also with the support of a wealth of experts amongst which Dr Dario Trapani and organisations such as the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).
The investment case (chapter 2) is properly groundbreaking and a real boost for anyone interested in measuring the return on investing in cancer prevention and treatments. Check it out!
